SEROLOGY SERVICE

Presentation: The Serology Department is accredited for several tests related to screening for Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infections. Nearly 30,000 test requests are processed annually.

Services: The tests performed by the Serology Laboratory can be divided into three main groups:

1) Infectious serologies;

Hepatitis A Serology: HAVM

Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) Infection Markers: HBsAg, Anti-HBs Ab, Total Anti-HBc Ab, IgM Anti-HBc Ab, HBeAg, Anti-HBe Ab
HBsAg Quantification
Hepatitis C Serology: HCV Ab
HIV Serology
Pregnancy Monitoring Tests; Toxoplasmosis, Rubella, TPHA/VDRL, CMV (IgG and IgM) Serologies
Amebiasis and Schistosomiasis Serologies

2) Autoimmunity Tests:

Rheumatoid Factors,
Anti-Native DNA Ab (DNAn),
ACCA PCC (…)
ANA (Introduction in progress)

3) Other Serologies; Pregnancy Tests
