Strict compliance with the Quality Management System has led the laboratories of the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun to be accredited to several ISO standards. The CPC’s Medical Analysis Laboratory (LAM) is accredited to ISO 15189.
The microbiology section of the CPC’s Hygiene and Environment Laboratory (LHEm) is accredited to ISO 17025.
The quality of a laboratory is considered to be its ability to provide accurate, reliable results, at the right time and at the best cost, so that doctors can determine the appropriate treatment for patients. To achieve this objective, the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun has set up a Quality Management System. This continuous improvement approach is reflected in the application of an organisation that ensures the satisfaction of laboratory users and compliance with requirements.
The aim of quality is to ensure that the results of the laboratory’s various activities meet the quality requirements of its products and services. The CPC is based on strictly defined operating procedures, involving the various stages of the analysis or test and the conditions under which it is carried out. Any errors that may occur are identified, analysed, traced and corrected.
Quality control in the laboratory is always based on procedures that must take into account and identify :
