Presentation :The Bacteriology, Parasitology and Mycology Laboratory is equipped with the appropriate technical facilities to ensure that analyses are carried out under optimum conditions.

Main activities:Fight against infectious diseases through diagnosis, prevention and surveillance of endemic and epidemic diseases such as cholera, meningitis, whooping cough, diphtheria, scientific research.In addition to an enhanced technical platform, the laboratory has a MALDI-TOF, the only one of its kind in Central Africa for bacterial and fungal identification by mass spectrometry.

Services :

• Classical bacteriology analyses: cytobacteriological examination of urine (ECBU), pus, genital swabs, puncture fluids and other biological fluids, biopsies, coproculture, blood culture, Helicobacter pylori antigen testing in stools, group A streptococcus testing in throat swabs, soluble and cryptococcal antigen testing, …. Etc.
• Confirmation of cholera and bacterial meningitis cases
• Parasitology and Mycology analyses: Coprology, parasite research in various pathological products, fungal agent research in skin, dander and various pathological products, …. Etc.
• Molecular biology analyses: testing for Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoae, diagnosis of pertussis by PCR
