Friday, March 13, 2026, will remain a significant date for several staff members of the Pasteur Center of Cameroon (CPC), honored on the occasion of the solemn ceremony for the awarding of labor merit medals.
Organized at the institution’s headquarters in Yaoundé, this event paid tribute to women and men whose professional commitment has contributed, for many years, to the prominence and proper functioning of the Center.
The ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Grégoire Owona, in the presence of CPC officials, staff, and several guests.
In total, 36 labor honor medals were awarded to the staff of the Pasteur Center of Cameroon. Among them, 24 silver medals, 6 vermeil medals, and 6 gold medals were given to reward careers marked by loyalty, diligence, and a constant commitment to serving the institution.
These honorary distinctions reflect the Republic’s recognition of collaborators who, over the years, have significantly contributed to the missions of the Center. Their daily work supports essential areas such as medical analyses, water and food testing, scientific research, vaccination, and training.
For the Director General of the Pasteur Center of Cameroon, Dr. Mirdad Kazanji, these distinctions honor “exemplary professional careers, driven by a sense of duty, professionalism, and attachment to the values of the CPC”.
In his speech, Minister Grégoire Owona recalled that the awarding of the Labour Honour Medals reflects the recognition of the Government and the Pasteur Center of Cameroon towards these staff members who, through their commitment and consistency, have contributed to building and developing the institution as it is known today.
This ceremony thus constituted a significant moment of recognition and celebration for these Pasteurians whose daily dedication contributes, with professionalism and passion, to the accomplishment of the public health mission of the Pasteur Center of Cameroon.
To the deserving Pasteurians, the grateful Republic
