CPC and the University of Ebolowa now linked by an agreement
The document initialled and signed on September 09, 2024 by Dr. Mirdad KAZANJI and Prof. Jean Bosco ETOA ETOA, respectively Director General of the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun and Rector of the University of Ebolowa, will strengthen training and scientific mobility links between the two institutions.
Rector Jean Bosco ETOA ETOA, accompanied by his close collaborators (deans and vice-rectors), began their working visit to the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun with a guided tour, punctuated by explanations of how the various laboratories work, their purpose and their importance. Curious and amazed by the mastery of the various subjects and the quality of the state-of-the-art equipment used, the day’s visitors found answers to all their questions during visits to the Hematology, Biochemistry, Serology, Virology, Medical Entomology and Malaria Research laboratories.
The university institution headed by Professor ETOA ETOA comprises a total of nine establishments, including the Sangmélima Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Faculty of Science. These two institutions are essentially focused on research, analysis and student training in fields such as nursing, medical analysis, biology, microbiology and virology, all of which are core activities for the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun.
In his welcome address, Dr. KAZANJI presented the Centre Pasteur du Cameroun as an organization with an established reputation, whose excellence in the fields of analysis, research and training of young people in Cameroon and Central Africa over the past sixty years is beyond question. “It is the benchmark for research, analysis and training in Central Africa,” he explains.
Prof. ETOA ETOA began by thanking the various collaborators who had worked to bring the framework agreement to life, and expressed the hope that it would be of greater benefit to students and researchers at the University of Ebolowa. The agreement signed will enable students from the University of Ebolowa to carry out their internships at Centre Pasteur, and the Centre Pasteur scientists involved will be able to teach there, while participating in the development of training curricula in their areas of expertise. It is also planned to develop joint research projects between researchers from the two institutions.
