From May 11 to 20, 2026, researchers from the Epidemiology and Public Health Service of the Centre Pasteur of Cameroon participated in the 3rd AMAX Summer School on the theme “Modeling for health decision-making: Integrating epidemiological, economic, and equity evidence for policy action” at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
This scientific meeting was organized by the Center for Modeling and Epidemiological Analysis (CEMA) of the University of Nairobi in collaboration with the Bioinformatics, Biomathematics, and Biostatistics Laboratory of the Pasteur Institute of Tunis.

The summer school brought together participants from Cameroon, Kenya, Tunisia, Niger, Senegal, and Uganda within the framework of the African Modeling and Analytics for Women (AMAX) project, supported by the Gates Foundation.
The program combined lectures, group practical work, and case studies to strengthen practical skills in epidemiological modeling and its application to policy. Key topics included epidemiology, health economics, equity, ethics, and the translation of evidence into decision-making.
