Exit the course on the evaluation of diagnostic tests

It is with a certificate of participation that those who took part in the course on the evaluation of diagnostic tests organized from Monday April 7 to Friday April 11, 2025 return to their respective workstations after five days of training in Yaoundé.

These participants who were receptive to the message according to Muriel Vray, Richard Njouom, Nicolas Berthet and Delia Djuicy, the facilitators of the training, return to their respective countries now knowing better how to understand the different stages of validation of a diagnostic test (from the laboratory to use in the field), measure and evaluate the validity and reproducibility of the tests (sensitivity, specificity, Positive Predictive Value, Negative Predictive Value, Positive Likelihood Ratio (LR+), Negative Likelihood Ratio (LR-), ROC curves, kappa index, Bland-Altman method. Added to this is a better knowledge of the development of the protocol relating to the evaluation of diagnostic tests with identification and discussion of biases.

In his speech, Dr. Mirdad KAZANJI, Director General of the CPC, asked the lucky recipients to make good use of the knowledge acquired in order to benefit from the spin-offs of this experience to the Pasteur Institutes to which they are attached, while advocating with the Pasteur Network to multiply these initiatives to strengthen the capacities of African researchers and the links between them.
