On June 25, 2025, the Bacteriology, Parasitology and Mycology Laboratory of the Cameroon Pasteur Center (CPC) welcomed Ms. Céline Lastrucci, representative of the Integrated Quality Laboratory Services (IQLS), as part of a mission to assess the diagnostic capabilities of bacterial meningitis. The objective of this meeting was to provide an updated overview of meningitis surveillance within the CPC.
The discussions focused on the sample transport system, reagent supply, biosafety, the quality management system, the types of tests performed, the equipment available, surveillance data from the last four years, as well as data communication mechanisms and staff profiles.
As a reminder, the CPC is the national reference laboratory for bacterial meningitis as part of sentinel surveillance.
