On September 2 and 3, 2026, the microbiology section of the Hygiene and Environment Laboratory (LHEM) at the Centre Pasteur of Cameroon (CPC) underwent a surveillance audit carried out by TUNAC (Tunisian Accreditation Council), as part of the process to maintain its ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

Over two days, auditors ABENE LASSAAD and KAHLAOUI IMEN thoroughly assessed the technical skills of the staff, management procedures, as well as the systems for validating analytical results. This exercise highlighted the laboratory’s strengths, but also identified some gaps that require corrective actions. Among the aspects particularly appreciated by the auditors were the teams’ competence, their availability, and their collaborative spirit throughout the audit.

At the end of this evaluation, the Acting Director General of the Centre Pasteur of Cameroon, Dr. Suzanne BELINGA, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to addressing the gaps identified. The teams from the Quality Service, LHEM, support services, and General Management will work together to develop and implement a corrective action plan, which should be proposed within a maximum of 15 days.
