As part of its training and mentoring mission, the Pasteur Center of Cameroon wishes to welcome two students of Cameroonian nationality for a Master’s level (second year). The selected students will work within the Virology Department under the supervision of Dr. Huguette SIMO as part of the following research project: “Determination of the transmission factors of the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus from cattle to humans” Application package:
– A cover letter specifying interest in the topic,
– An up-to-date curriculum vitae,
– Enrollment in a Master 2 program at a Cameroonian university,
– A recommendation letter from the academic supervisor who agrees to co-supervise the thesis.
Required skills:
– Proven professional experience in virology research and related laboratory work,
– In-depth knowledge of the collection and handling of biological samples from domestic animals,
– Proficiency in the collection and identification of ticks,
– Strong knowledge and practical skills in immunological and molecular diagnostic techniques, including ELISA and PCR,
– Applications from veterinary students are highly encouraged. Submission of Applications
Applications must be submitted to the Secretariat of the Director General of the Pasteur Center of Cameroon (Yaoundé) in a sealed envelope no later than January 20, 2026, with the mention “Academic Internship in Virology/Arbovirology.” Selected candidates must be available to start the internship by February 1, 2026, at the latest.
