The Board of Directors, made up of the Directors of each member institute, is chaired by the Director General of Institut Pasteur in Paris. It meets twice a year and elects twelve representatives to the Institut Pasteur Assembly. A Vice-President is elected for a three-year term. During this meeting, the Directors report on the progress or problems of the joint programs of the International Network in which they participate, and decide on the establishment of new exchanges or collaborations between institutes interested in the proposed programs.
The Network’s Executive Board, created in 2003, is chaired by the Vice-President of the Board of Directors and composed of directors appointed by the regional institutes and the Director General of the Pasteur Institute.
The Network has a common budget, with each institute contributing 0.2% of its own budget. This common fund, managed by the Executive Board, supports joint teaching activities, researcher mobility and the implementation of scientific strategy. The Executive Office is responsible for implementing and monitoring the programs financed by the common budget.
A Charter of Pasteurian Values and a Declaration of Shared Pasteurian Values have been adopted by all members of the Network. All of the founding texts of the RIIP are grouped together in a single document.
The 32 institutes signed the new agreement in 2010 Accord de Collaboration du Réseau International des Instituts Pasteur.
The International Division coordinates joint activities and manages the Instituts Pasteur. It also manages the funding and staff made available to certain institutes by the Institut Pasteur in Paris or the French government.
The Institut Pasteur in Paris provides the International Network with staff resources to ensure it runs smoothly.
