Cooperation

The Pasteur network

Institutes, partners and associates in scientific research, public health services and training, join the Network on a voluntary basis. Admission is decided by the Board of Directors of the International Network.

The Board of Directors, made up of the Directors of each member institute, is chaired by the Director General of Institut Pasteur in Paris. It meets twice a year and elects twelve representatives to the Institut Pasteur Assembly. A Vice-President is elected for a three-year term. During this meeting, the Directors report on the progress or problems of the joint programs of the International Network in which they participate, and decide on the establishment of new exchanges or collaborations between institutes interested in the proposed programs.

The Network’s Executive Board, set up in 2003, is chaired by the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and comprises the directors appointed by the regional institutes and the General Manager of Institut Pasteur.

The Network has a common budget, with each institute contributing 0.2% of its own budget. This common fund, managed by the Executive Board, supports joint teaching activities, researcher mobility and the implementation of scientific strategy. The Executive Office is responsible for implementing and monitoring the programs financed by the common budget.
